Have been currently using Thunderbird (Release 128.11.0esr (64 Bit)) on a desktop over the last 10-12 years. I have now updated my PC and want to transfer the existing software and all the stored emails to the new PC which is running on Windows 11.

How can I do this please?

This is how I've always done it. It preserves your whole existing setup. Make sure you install 128.11.0esr on the new PC

1. Launch Thunderbird on the old PC

2. Go to Thunderbird menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information

3. Click the Application Basics > Profile Folder 'Open Folder' button

4. The profile folder will open; navigate three levels up to the Roaming folder

5. Close TB, then copy the Thunderbird folder to a flash drive

6. Go to the new PC's Roaming folder as instructed above and delete the Thunderbird folder

7. Paste the Thunderbird folder from the flash drive to the new PC

8. Launch Thunderbird
